Summary

The convergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing has transformed communication and information technology, enabling smart cities and businesses. However, IoT's limited resources and cloud security risks call for innovative solutions. Blockchain technology offers robust security, decentralization, and efficiency, making it a promising addition to Cloud of Things (CoT) applications.
This Special Issue focuses on the integration of blockchain with CoT to enhance security, scalability, and efficiency in IoT systems. The goal is to present advanced frameworks, models, and architectures that tackle data privacy, resource optimization, and fault tolerance challenges. It seeks original research, reviews, and case studies on blockchain-driven advancements, emphasizing smart contracts, decentralized identity management, and AI-powered enhancements for CoT.

Suggested themes shall be listed.

1. Blockchain Frameworks for Cloud-IoT Integration
2. Secure Healthcare Data Management Using Blockchain
3. Decentralized Identity and Trust Models in CoT
4. Energy-Efficient Blockchain Solutions for IoT
5. Privacy Preservation and Access Control in Smart Environments
6. AI-Driven Blockchain Enhancements in CoT
7. Blockchain for Intelligent Transport and Industrial Automation

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) devices generate massive data that leads to network congestion, propagation delays, and suboptimal resource allocation. Traditional Cloud Computing (CC) offers scalable resources required for that data; however, it has a long delay and communication overhead. On the other hand, Edge Computing (EC) guarantees low latency but has limited computational capacity. In this paper, we propose an intermediate paradigm, Regional Computing (RC), combined with a Fuzzy Logic System (FLS) for dynamic, multi-criteria offloading across edge, regional, and cloud. The FLS takes task size, cost, and computational demand as input metrics. It More >
